Kabompo, December 5, 2019, ZANIS---Kabompo Council Chairperson, Presly Makayi, says barriers of stigma and discrimination are still rife in communities thereby slowing down successful provision of HIV/AIDS service provision.

Mr Makayi has therefore, called on leaders and other community members to come forward and help eradicate them.

Mr Makayi said this during the district World AIDS Day commemoration held under the theme, "communities making a difference: pressing towards ending AIDS”.

Speaking at the same event, Nkulwashi Head Teacher, Sharon Kambila, said the virus can only be pressed if all work together.

Ms Kambila added that poverty has remained a contributing factor as some parents with low income have continued to depend on a girl child.

She said young people have continued to sell their bodies without considering partners’ status but only think about money first.
