Chasefu, November 8, 2019, ZANIS ---   Senior Chasefu District Council’s management officials are advised to minimize on their trips to save funds for developmental projects.

Nkhanga Ward Councilor,  Obote Banda,  says unnecessary trips are detrimental to development as the funds involved are supposed to be channeled to various developmental projects in the area.

Mr Banda, in an interview with ZANIS has since appealed to the Council Chairperson and the Council Secretary (CS), Chimwemwe Daka,  and Raphael Phiri, respectively, to advise one another whenever they want to undertake a trip.

The civic leader was  speaking yesterday during the full council meeting.

And responding to the concerns, Mr Phiri explained that the trips they make are not initiated by the local authority but the higher authorities.

He used the opportunity to refute assertions alleging that officers based in Lundazi are resisting to relocate to Chasefu as untrue, adding that it’s unfortunate that Chasefu district does not have basic accommodation.

The Principal Officer has however assured civic leaders that management is doing everything possible to ensure that officers who are commuting are allocated to Chasefu district
