Mpongwe, December 6, 2019, ZANIS---Mpongwe District Commissioner, Keith Maila, has expressed concern over the alleged increase in Murder cases in the area.

Mr Maila says the situation has reached worrying levels and hence calls for urgent police measures.

He added that the discovery of dead bodies has become the order of the day in his area.

"There are lot of criminals now in our district, just the other week a decomposed body was picked up in an unfinished shop in munkumpu area, "he said.

Mr Maila was speaking when the Police Public Complaints Commission PPCC paid a courtesy call on him this morning.

He further urged the commission to assist in addressing some of the challenges facing Police in the district.

Mr Maila said Mpongwe is a very vast district and hence requires maximum police presence in order for crime to be averted.

He noted that police in the area have continued to face logistical challenges such transport to carry out their duties.
