Solwezi, October 16, 2019, ZANIS--Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) North Western Province Chairperson, Charles Kabwe has encouraged the public to use of National Prayers Repentance and Reconciliation as an opportunity to put their differences behind and forgive each other.

Bishop Kabwe said it is important for people from all walks of life to come together and pray for peace and unity in the country.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Solwezi today that Christians are commanded by God to humble themselves before God in prayer hence the need for all Zambians to take part in the event.

"Zambia is a Christian nation and God commands all Christians to humble themselves to ask for God's forgiveness and blessings in the country," Bishop Kabwe said.

Bishop Kabwe stated that everyone should use the day as an opportunity to pray for peace and unity to prevail in the country regardless of their different political and religious affiliations.

He urged families to also take time to settle their differences during the event adding that the habit of reconciliation needs to start at family level.

This year's national day of prayer and fasting is being held under the theme "Receiving times of refreshing from the presence of the LORD through reconciliation with one another and the environment for a Prosperous Zambia,".
