Mansa, July 5, 2019, ZANIS----Three people among them an eight months old baby have died in a road traffic accident in Mwense district, after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned.

Involved in the accident was Andrew Mulenga 30 a driver of Jimbara Milling Company of Mansa district, who was driving a Foden Truck and trailer Registration number ASB 1327 and ASB 1717 ZM, Mercy Bwalya 30 and Darius Bwalya 8 months and two others whose bodies have not yet been identified.

Luapula Province Police Commissioner Elias Chushi, who disclosed the development to ZANIS in Mansa said they accident happened this morning July 5, around 07:00 hours at the Musonda Falls Hill, along the Mansa-Mwense road.

Mr Chushi says facts before the police are that Mr Mulenga while ascending on the Musonda Falls hill failed to negotiate a corner due to excessive speed, leading to the vehicle overturning, and killing three people on board.

Mr Chushi adds that the matter is still being investigated, and more information will be made available soon.

He says the bodies of the deceased have been deposited to the Mansa General Mortuary awaiting postmortem, to ascertain the cause of death.
