ZANIS reports  Mr Kasenge  in an interview, today, said the Council had used the operations funds to buy vehicles and other items and what remained (K500, 000) was used towards the constructing of the offices.

“  The local authority has topped up K250, 000 from its 2019 budget towards the construction of the offices target to house about 25 government employees, “ he said .

The council has spent K750, 000 towards the construction works.

Mr Kasenge said the local authority is empowering the local people with skills to take up the construction works thereby by fulfilling government’s agenda of empowerment.

He said the 38 local people that have been employed to carry out the construction works are very committed to their work.

Mr Kasenge appealed to government to come in and assist the local authority with resources so that the office block can be completed before the end of October.

He said the local authority has managed to sacrifice the little that it has to build offices so that it may begin to give its services effectively to the people of Lusangazi and should be financially supported by other organisations.
