Milenge, July, 11,  2019,  ZANIS --- Calm has been restored at Butimbwe Primary School in Milenge district after pupils absconded classes due to a reported witchcraft scare at the school.

ZANIS reports that Milenge District Education Board Secretary Lameck Lungo discloses that in the past months pupils shunned classes due to alleged witchcraft scare, but the situation has normalised.

Mr Lungo however, revealed that on Tuesday that  pupils boycotted classes for a day due to the alleged rampant witchcraft attacks among them at the school.

He says the direction education office has since counselled the pupils and a pastor from a named church in Lubwe has since been invited to come and pray for the pupils.

And Sokontwe Ward Councilor Jerricks Kalebwe has urged the pupils to be prayerful and avoid any form of distractions if they are to get educated.

Mr Kalebwe observed that the attacks some pupils faced in their dreams were aimed at making them lose concentration at school.

The Councilor has since called on parents to ensure that they introduce their children to God at an early age.
